Payments Engineer
Gabriel Talent
About the Company
An early-stage fintech building a stablecoin clearinghouse, the rails that let payments companies, banks, and fintechs move stablecoins like money. The platform gives financial institutions one-for-one swaps between stablecoins across chains, with a focus on reconciliation at scale, guaranteed delivery times and fees, and compliant capital movement. Design partnerships are already in place with well-known fintech names, and the founding team brings deep backgrounds in fintech investing and engineering.
About the Role
The clearinghouse lives or dies on correct, resilient money movement. The Payments Engineer designs and builds the fiat and stablecoin clearing system end to end: ledgering, reconciliation, and the integrations into banks, issuers, and custodians that the rest of the product depends on. This is a deep payments seat for someone who has built payment infrastructure before and treats moving customer money as a serious responsibility.
What You'll Own
- Design, build, and scaling of components of the money-movement and clearing system
- Ledgering, reconciliation, and auditing across fiat and stablecoin rails
- Integrations into banks, issuers, and custodians
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years building deeply with payment systems, financial infrastructure, or banking integrations
- Experience scaling a payment system from zero to one, ideally also from one to ten
- A working understanding of ACH, wires, and RTP, plus ledgering, reconciliation, and auditing
- Strong distributed-systems fundamentals, and the ability to ship fast without sacrificing correctness or scale
- Experience building resilient integrations across legacy or fragmented financial APIs
- High urgency and ownership: you ship something useful in your first week
- Strongest backgrounds: engineers who built payments or ledger infrastructure at a fintech or payments company, or high-performing mid or back-office engineers from hedge funds and trading firms who handled correctness and money movement at scale
- An exceptional systems engineer without direct payments experience is in scope, since the domain can be learned. Crypto or stablecoin experience is a plus, not a requirement.
Logistics
